Career Gaps are a Norm

Source: BusinessInsider

“Mind the gap, or not.” #Career gaps are a norm as the younger generation moves forward to discover their ikigai or their purpose in life; rediscover what matters like their mental wellness and their relationships.

Even career gaps are a norm for #millennials as retirement ages edge up to the 70s with economies stagnating because many countries are becoming developed with aging population.

The article ‘Gen Z is rewriting the rulebook on ‘résumé gaps’ resonates with me, as the breaks in our career offer new perspectives to life by encountering new people from courses, classes, communities and friends whom we lost touch with.

Traditional career roles are being upended with advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation.

Just like prescriptive cancer treatments which are more effective by utilizing specific drugs for individual cases, the new-age job roles are becoming more differentiated because the uniqueness to approach the market differs from one company to another.

By 2025, #GenZ workers will become almost a third of the workforce. The article ends with the essence about hiring, which is what the person can bring to the table.

#tippingpoint will be reached as one generation moves to become a dominant force in the market.

As an individual, it feels like we are living and transiting to a renewed age of renaissance for professional work and careers. A time when classical and antiquity of hiring practices over the last 70 years will be revived and surpassed.
